The short version
- We collect what we need to run EasyClip: your Google account basics, the videos you upload and what we make from them, your purchases, and how you use the site.
- Your videos are stored on Google Cloud and analyzed with Google’s Gemini API on a paid plan, under which Google doesn’t use them to improve its products. We don’t use them to train our own models.
- Original videos are deleted within 7 days after a job finishes. Clips and transcript files stay in your account until you ask us to delete them or close your account.
- We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use advertising trackers.
- To delete a video, get a copy of your data, or delete your account, email {{CONTACT_EMAIL}}.
This summary is here to help. The full text below is what applies.
1. Who we are
EasyClip is run by {{OPERATOR_LEGAL_NAME}}, an individual based in the United States. We decide how your personal information is used for EasyClip, which makes us the “controller” under European privacy law. You can reach us at {{CONTACT_EMAIL}}.
This policy covers the EasyClip website and app. It works together with our Terms of Service.
2. What we collect
From your Google account
When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name, profile photo, and a Google account ID. We only ask Google for basic sign-in information. We don’t get your Google password, and we don’t ask for access to your Gmail, Drive, YouTube account, or contacts.
Profile details you give us
Your creator name, the platforms you post to, the kinds of content you make, the games you play, notes about your audience, links to your channels, and whether you want marketing emails.
Your videos and what we make from them
The videos you upload, and the clips, titles, timestamps, transcripts, caption files, and quality checks we make from them.
Purchases
Which token packs you buy, the amounts and dates, your token balance and how you used it, and the IDs Stripe gives us for you and your payments. Stripe collects your card details directly. We never receive or store your full card number.
How you found us
The first time you visit, we note where you came from: the campaign tags in the link (UTM parameters), the site that referred you, and the page you landed on. We attach this to your account when you sign in.
How you use EasyClip
Events such as pages viewed, uploads, downloads, and purchases, tied to your account or to an anonymous ID stored in your browser.
Logs and job metrics
Our servers keep structured logs of requests and errors so we can find and fix problems. We try to keep personal details out of them: email addresses are removed, and IP addresses are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form for rate limiting. We also record how long each job took and what it cost us to process.
3. Cookies and browser storage
We use your browser’s local storage for a few things:
- an anonymous ID, so we can count visits and actions before you sign in;
- where you first came from (the details described above), until it’s attached to your account;
- your sign-in session, which Firebase Authentication stores so you stay signed in.
Stripe’s checkout pages set their own cookies to process payments and prevent fraud.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we don’t record usage events or where you came from.
We don’t use advertising pixels or ad-tracking cookies, and we don’t let ad networks track you on our site. If that ever changes, we’ll update this policy first and give you a way to opt out.
4. How we use your information
- To run EasyClip: sign you in, store and process your videos, make and deliver clips, and keep your token balance right.
- To pick better clips. The content types, games, and audience notes in your profile are sent along with your video when we ask the AI model to find and rank moments.
- To take payments, prevent fraud, and keep records the law requires.
- To email you about your account and jobs, such as when clips are ready.
- To send marketing emails, but only if you opted in. You can opt out at any time.
- To understand how people use EasyClip and which marketing works, so we can improve the product and spend our budget sensibly.
- To keep EasyClip secure, investigate abuse, enforce our terms, and follow the law.
We don’t look at your videos or clips unless you ask us to (for example, for support), we need to fix a problem with a job, or we need to investigate a report of abuse or respond to a legal request.
5. How AI is used on your videos
To find moments, make transcripts, and check cuts, we send your video (or parts of it) to Google’s Gemini API. We use Gemini on a paid plan. Under the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service, for paid services Google doesn’t use prompts or responses to improve its products. It logs them for a limited time only to detect and prevent violations of its Prohibited Use Policy, and it processes them under its data processing terms.
We don’t use your videos, clips, or transcripts to train our own AI models.
AI decides which moments become clips. It doesn’t make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
7. How long we keep things
- Original videos: We delete your original video no later than 7 days after its job finishes. It can go sooner, for example when a job fails or there are no extra clips to offer. This window is when you can buy extra clips.
- Clips, transcript files, and caption files: clips, transcript files, and caption files stay in your account until you ask us to delete them or you close your account. If we ever start deleting them on a schedule, we’ll update this policy first and give you time to download what you want to keep.
- Clip titles, timestamps, and transcript text: clip titles, timestamps, and transcript text stay in your account until you ask us to delete them or close your account.
- Account and profile details, including where you first came from: kept while your account is open.
- Usage events: kept for up to 24 months, then deleted or made anonymous.
- Server logs: kept for about 30 days.
- Purchase and token records: kept as long as tax and accounting laws require, usually up to 7 years, even after you close your account.
To delete a video and its clips, email {{CONTACT_EMAIL}} from the email address on your account. We’ll remove the video, its clips, and the titles, timestamps, and transcript text that go with them.
When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account, profile, videos, clips, and transcripts within 30 days. We keep only what the law requires, such as purchase records. Copies may stay in backups for a short time until they’re overwritten.
8. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- see and change most profile details in your account settings;
- ask us to delete any video and its clips at any time;
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or for us to correct it;
- ask us to delete your account and personal information;
- unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any of them, or by turning off marketing emails in your settings;
- turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser to stop usage tracking.
To make a request, email {{CONTACT_EMAIL}} from the email address on your account, so we can confirm it’s you. We may ask for more information if we can’t. Requests are free. We’ll reply within one month, and if we need more time, as the law allows in some cases, we’ll tell you why.
We won’t treat you differently, charge you more, or give you a worse service for using your privacy rights.
9. California and other US state privacy rights
Privacy laws in California and some other US states give residents the right to know what personal information is collected about them, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. You can use these rights as described above. You can also have an authorized agent make a request for you; we’ll ask for proof that they’re allowed to act for you.
In the last 12 months we collected these categories of personal information, from you, your browser, and Google sign-in, for the purposes described in this policy:
- Identifiers: name, email address, Google account ID, anonymous browser ID.
- Customer records and commercial information: token purchases, balances, and Stripe payment IDs.
- Internet activity: pages viewed, uploads, downloads, purchases, referrer, and campaign tags.
- Audio and visual information: the videos you upload and the clips made from them.
- Profile information: creator name, platforms, content types, games, audience notes, channel links.
We disclose these categories to the service providers listed above for business purposes. We don’t sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we haven’t in the last 12 months. We don’t knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. We don’t use sensitive personal information to infer things about you.
Because we don’t sell or share personal information, we don’t show a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link. We honor Global Privacy Control signals anyway.
10. If you’re in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland
We rely on these legal bases to use your information:
- Contract: to provide EasyClip, process your videos, and handle purchases you ask for.
- Legitimate interests: to keep EasyClip secure, prevent fraud and abuse, understand how it’s used, measure marketing, and improve it. We balance these against your rights, and you can object.
- Consent: for marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting what happened before.
- Legal obligation: to keep tax and accounting records and respond to lawful requests.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your personal information, and to get a copy in a portable format. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work, though we’d appreciate the chance to fix things first.
EasyClip is run from the United States, and our providers store and process data in the United States and possibly other countries. When we move personal information out of Europe, we rely on safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions) where our providers are certified, and the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses in our providers’ data processing terms.
11. Security
Data moves over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and is stored on Google Cloud, which encrypts it at rest. Access rules limit your videos, clips, and account data to you and to the systems that process them. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal information, we’ll tell you as the law requires.
12. Children
EasyClip isn’t for children. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email {{CONTACT_EMAIL}} and we’ll delete it.
13. Google user data
EasyClip’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use the name, email address, profile photo, and account ID from Google sign-in only to create and run your EasyClip account and to contact you about it. We don’t sell it, use it for advertising, or let anyone else use it for their own purposes.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change matters, such as using your information in a new way, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
15. Contact
Questions or requests about your privacy? Email {{CONTACT_EMAIL}}.
