Clip transcripts for show notes
Get clip transcripts and timestamps for your podcast show notes
Short answer
Every clip EasyClip cuts comes with a title, the source timestamp, a short summary, and a timed transcript with speaker labels. That's what you paste into podcast show notes as pull quotes and timestamps. It transcribes the clips, not the whole episode, so it isn't a full-episode transcript service.
Show notes are mostly quotes and timestamps, and both are things you already said. The slow part is finding them again after the episode is published.

What you get in writing, and what you don't
Each clip is transcribed, not the whole episode. You get timed segments with speaker labels and an SRT file per clip, plus one file with every clip's transcript in it. There's no word-for-word transcript of the parts that didn't become clips.
What that gives you is the useful half of show notes: a handful of moments you already decided were the best ones, each with where it happened in the episode, what it was about, and the words themselves. Paste the timestamps in as a list and put the quotes underneath.
If you need a word-for-word transcript of an entire episode, for accessibility or for search, that's a different job and a different tool. Apple's podcaster support pages say Apple generates a transcript itself after a new episode is published, and that a transcript you supply instead arrives through your feed's transcript tag as VTT or SRT (checked October 2026).
Moments to look for
- A quotable line with the words checked against the audio
- A timestamp for the topic listeners will skip to
- A guest's definition of a term, ready to quote
- A number worth putting in the episode description
- The question that produced the best answer
- A short summary of each moment, written for that clip
How it works
From one recording to clips you can post
Upload the whole thing
Upload the episode, video or audio. Transcripts come with every clip either way. Files can be up to 12 hours and 8 GB. We count the length and include about 10 clips per hour, with a minimum of 5 per upload. You don't pick a number.
Say what you want quoted
If you're writing the notes around themes, name them. Moments that match the note are favored, and the job tells you which ones matched.
Download, then decide on extras
Each clip brings an SRT file and a timed transcript, and one file collects them all. Extras stay available for 7 days if you want more.
What it costs
A 1-hour podcast episode uses 10 tokens: up to 10 clips, about 3 days at 3 posts a day. That’s $2.67 to $3.33 depending on the pack.
More good moments than that? Add them as extras, 2 per token, for 7 days. Unfilled slots come back as tokens. Pricing details
Good to know
- Clips keep the framing you uploaded. There’s no automatic vertical crop yet.
- Each clip comes with a transcript and an SRT file. Captions aren’t burned in.
- It watches and listens, so moments without talking count. Clear speech is still the easiest to find and check.
Common questions about clip transcripts and show notes
Do I get a transcript of the whole episode?
No. Each clip is transcribed, not the whole episode. You get timed segments with speaker labels and an SRT file per clip, plus one file with every clip's transcript in it. There's no word-for-word transcript of the parts that didn't become clips.
What exactly is in a clip's transcript?
Timed segments with speaker labels and the words, plus an SRT file with the same timings. Speaker labels come from the audio, so clean separate tracks make them more reliable than one mic in the middle of a table.
Can I put the SRT in my RSS feed as the episode transcript?
No. The podcast namespace's transcript tag sits inside an episode and points at one file for that episode, with a URL and a MIME type: text/vtt for VTT, application/x-subrip for SRT (checked October 2026). These SRTs are per clip, and their timings start at zero for each clip, so they don't describe the episode. Apple's podcaster support pages say Apple generates a transcript itself after a new episode is published, and that a transcript you supply instead arrives through your feed's transcript tag as VTT or SRT (checked October 2026).
Does it write the show notes for me?
No. It gives you titles, summaries, timestamps, and the words. Turning that into the voice of your show is still yours to do, and it's usually fifteen minutes with the quotes in front of you instead of an hour with a scrub bar.
How accurate are the transcripts?
They come from each clip's own audio, and the opening of every clip is re-transcribed and compared with the line it was meant to start on. Clips whose openings don't match are flagged. Names, jargon, and crosstalk are the usual mistakes, so read a quote before you publish it.
