Interview clip maker
Turn a long interview into clips of the answers worth hearing
Short answer
Upload the recorded interview, video or audio. EasyClip looks for complete answers: a story with an ending, a claim and the reason behind it, a question the guest clearly didn't expect. It cuts the answer rather than the long setup and transcribes every clip. An hour of interview gives about 10.
An interview is mostly you asking and them answering. The clip is nearly always their answer, which means the cut has to land on the first word they say and not on the tail of your question.
Works with recordings from YouTube.
Updated
The answer is the clip. The question is usually in the way.
A good interview answer can take four minutes to arrive and thirty seconds to land. Cutting it means finding where the answer actually starts, which is often halfway through a sentence that began as a hedge.
EasyClip listens for the point where the answer becomes self-contained and starts there. A short question that makes the answer clearer stays in; a two-minute preamble doesn't. Then it transcribes the exported clip and compares the opening against the hook line, so a cut that landed a second late gets flagged instead of posted.
A 60-minute interview uses 10 tokens, so up to 10 included clips. The Starter pack (30 tokens for $10) covers it.
Moments to look for
- A story the guest has clearly told before, told well
- A claim plus the reason the guest believes it
- A question they didn't expect, and the pause before the answer
- A disagreement with the interviewer that stays respectful
- A number or a date that reframes the topic
- A confession, said plainly and then moved past
- A short, sharp definition of a term the field argues about
How it works
From one recording to clips you can post
Upload the whole thing
Upload the recording: a video file, or the audio if the interview was never on camera. Files can be up to 12 hours and 8 GB. We count the length and include about 10 clips per hour, with a minimum of 5 per upload. You don't pick a number.
Name the guest and the ground
Say who you interviewed, what they're known for, and which answers you'd want first. Two sentences is enough.
Download, then decide on extras
Each answer comes back as its own file with a transcript, so you can quote it in the post text. Extras stay available for 7 days if you want more.
What it costs
A 1-hour interview uses 10 tokens: up to 10 clips, about 3 days at 3 posts a day. That’s $2.67 to $3.33 depending on the pack.
More good moments than that? Add them as extras, 2 per token, for 7 days. Unfilled slots come back as tokens. Pricing details
Good to know
- Clips keep the framing you uploaded. There’s no automatic vertical crop yet.
- Each clip comes with a transcript and an SRT file. Captions aren’t burned in.
- It watches and listens, so moments without talking count. Clear speech is still the easiest to find and check.
Common questions about interview clips
Can it tell the interviewer from the guest?
The transcripts carry speaker labels worked out from the audio. Separate mics and little crosstalk make those labels better. When two people talk over each other the labels get less certain, so read them before you paste a quote into a post.
Can I clip an interview I recorded on Zoom, Riverside, or a phone?
Yes, as long as you can export one file, video or audio, under 12 hours and 8 GB. If your tool writes one track per speaker, mix them down to a single file first.
What if the best answer runs five minutes?
Then it's probably not one clip. The search looks for the part that stands alone, which is usually a shorter stretch inside the long answer. If nothing inside it works by itself, that answer is skipped and the slot goes to something else.
What if one side's audio is much worse than the other?
It still works, and the weaker side is the risk. A remote guest on laptop audio transcribes less reliably, so their clips are the ones most likely to be flagged for a listen. If you kept a clean local track for each person, mix that down and upload it instead.
Can I clip an interview someone else recorded?
Only with their permission. We cut whatever file you upload, but the rights to the recording, and to the person in it, are yours to sort out before you post.
