Refund Policy
Last updated
The short version
- Tokens are prepaid, don’t expire, and there’s no subscription.
- If a video can’t fill all of its included clips, the tokens for the missing clips come back automatically. If a job fails, all of its tokens come back.
- If you haven’t spent any tokens since a purchase, you can get your money back within 14 days of it.
- Otherwise, purchased tokens aren’t refundable for cash, except where the law requires it.
- Questions or refund requests go to {{CONTACT_EMAIL}}.
This summary is here to help. The full text below is what applies.
1. How tokens work
You buy tokens in prepaid packs through Stripe. There’s no subscription, and tokens don’t expire. Prices are in US dollars:
- Starter: 30 tokens for $10 USD
- Creator: 100 tokens for $30 USD
- Pro: 250 tokens for $70 USD
- Studio: 600 tokens for $160 USD
A video costs 1 token for every started 6 minutes of footage, which works out to 10 tokens per hour, with a minimum of 5 tokens. Each token covers one included clip. The exact math is on the Pricing page.
For 7 days after a job finishes, while we still have your original video, you can buy extra clips we found beyond the included ones. Extras cost 1 token for every 2 clips, rounded up.
2. Tokens that come back automatically
You don’t need to ask for these. They go back to your balance on their own:
- If a video doesn’t have enough good moments to fill all of its included clips, the tokens for the clips we don’t deliver go back to your balance automatically.
- If a job fails, every token it used goes back to your balance.
If a job had a problem that these rules don’t cover, such as clips that clearly start in the wrong place, email {{CONTACT_EMAIL}} with a link to the job. We’ll look at it and may return tokens.
3. Getting your money back
Purchased tokens aren’t refundable for cash, with two exceptions:
- Unused purchases: if you ask within 14 days of buying a pack and you haven’t spent any tokens since that purchase, we’ll refund the full price and remove those tokens from your balance.
- Where the law requires a refund.
We don’t give cash refunds for tokens that have been spent, for tokens that were returned to your balance after a job, or for purchases more than 14 days old.
4. How to ask for a refund
Email {{CONTACT_EMAIL}} from the email address on your EasyClip account. Include the date of the purchase and the pack you bought, or forward the Stripe receipt.
Approved refunds go back to the card or payment method you used, through Stripe. They usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
5. Things that can’t be undone
Extra clips can only be bought during the 7 days after a job finishes, because that’s how long we keep your original video. After it’s deleted, extras aren’t available and we can’t recover the video.
Clips, transcript files, and caption files stay in your account until you ask us to delete them or you close your account. If we ever start deleting them on a schedule, we’ll update this policy first and give you time to download what you want to keep. Once deleted at your request, files can’t be recovered, and their deletion isn’t a reason for a refund.
6. Chargebacks
If something’s wrong with a charge, please email us before you contact your bank. We can usually fix it faster. If you open a chargeback, we may pause your account until it’s resolved.
7. Closing your account or EasyClip shutting down
If you close your account, unused tokens are lost unless they qualify for a refund above. If we close your account because you broke our Terms of Service, unused tokens aren’t refunded, except where the law requires it. If we close your account for any other reason, or shut EasyClip down, we’ll refund unused purchased tokens at the price you paid for them.
8. Your rights under the law
This policy doesn’t take away any rights you have under the consumer laws where you live. That includes the right in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days, which may end once you start using what you bought.
