Audio-only podcast clips
Upload an audio-only podcast and get audio clips back
Short answer
Upload your episode as an MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, or OGG file and EasyClip returns audio clips with transcripts, about 10 per hour of audio, for the same price as video. It listens rather than watches. It does not yet build a waveform video or burn in captions.
Plenty of shows have never pointed a camera at anything. If your episode only exists as audio, you can still get clips out of it without exporting a fake video first.

An audio show shouldn't have to fake a video first
Most clipping tools want a video file, so an audio podcaster ends up rendering a waveform over cover art just to have something to upload. That's an extra export, an extra wait, and a file several times the size of the audio you started with.
Upload the audio as it is. EasyClip listens to the whole episode, picks the moments that stand alone, moves each start to the first spoken word, and checks the exported clip against the transcript. Speech is the signal it trusts most, so an audio show loses very little by having no picture.
A 45-minute episode uses 8 tokens, so up to 8 included clips. The Starter pack (30 tokens for $10) covers it.
Moments to look for
- A guest's best story, told without interruption
- A disagreement where both people stay reasonable
- A surprising number, said out loud with its source
- A definition that settles an argument in two sentences
- A confession that only came out because the room was quiet
- The one piece of advice the episode was building toward
How it works
From one recording to clips you can post
Upload the whole thing
Upload the episode as MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, or OGG. The same file you sent your host is fine. Files can be up to 12 hours and 8 GB. We count the length and include about 10 clips per hour, with a minimum of 5 per upload. You don't pick a number.
Say who listens
Name the guest and the topics. On audio there's no face or screen to go on, so a line about what your listeners care about does more work than usual.
Download, then decide on extras
Each clip comes back as an audio file with its transcript. Audio clips are useful as they are: a teaser on a private feed, an attachment to a guest, a trailer segment, a voice note in a newsletter, or the audio layer of a video you build in your editor. Extras stay available for 7 days if you want more.
What it costs
A 45-minute podcast episode uses 8 tokens: up to 8 clips, about 2 days at 3 posts a day. That’s $2.13 to $2.67 depending on the pack.
More good moments than that? Add them as extras, 2 per token, for 7 days. Unfilled slots come back as tokens. Pricing details
Good to know
- Audio in, audio clips out. You get the clips and a transcript for each one, not a video with a waveform.
- Each clip comes with an SRT file, so captions are ready when you build a video version yourself.
- It listens to the whole episode, so a story with a long build still gets found, not just the loud parts.
Common questions about audio podcast clips
Which audio formats can I upload?
MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC, or OGG, up to 12 hours and 8 GB per file. An episode-length MP3 is nowhere near that ceiling.
Do I get a waveform video with captions?
No. An audio upload gives you audio clips and transcripts. EasyClip doesn't yet render a video version, so there's no waveform, no cover art, and no burned-in captions. If you want one of these clips on TikTok, Reels, or Shorts, you make the video yourself from the audio and the transcript.
Can I upload one of these straight to Spotify as a clip?
No. Spotify's own Clips are video: its creator help page says a clip runs 15 to 90 seconds, has to be an MP4 or MOV file with audio, and that you can upload 1 clip per episode (checked October 2026). An audio file isn't that, so you would build the video yourself and keep it inside those limits.
Does audio cost less than video?
No, and it doesn't cost more. The price follows length either way: A 60-minute episode uses 10 tokens, so up to 10 included clips. The Starter pack (30 tokens for $10) covers it. Anything up to about half an hour is the 5-token minimum.
Can it still cut on the first word with no picture to check?
Yes. The check happens on sound: the opening of the exported clip is transcribed and compared with the line it was supposed to start on. Openings that don't match are flagged for you to listen to.
